AF 56/1.7 is an auto focus lens suitable for E/XF/Z-mount cameras, with 11 elements in 9 groups. The focus distance is about 0.55m-∞, and noiseless STM focus motor can accurately control the moving position and bring accurate and smooth focusing.

Ordering the lens was straight forward and easy. An email came soon and detailed everything. Then another to say it had been shipped. So full marks for communication and for the web site. First impression of the lens seems solid and well built despite it being plastic. You seem to have fixed the loose lens hood glitch all the reviewers mention and there is now way it will fall off.
Been out for an hour locally taking test shots and all looking good.

I purchased The Viltrox 56mm F1.7 APS-C lens after having previously purchased the Viltrox 20mm F2.8 AF FX lens, The results on the 56mm are also results very pleasing, fast focusing and sharp on Nikon Z5 shot in DX mode.
I am now contemplating purchase of a 3rd prime Lens

This is a cracking little lens for the money!

Really sharp with excellent colour reproduction and contrast. It is very light which makes it an excellent "walkabout" choice despite the slightly longer focal length.

It can be prone to vignetting at wider apertures but this is not overwhelming and can be corrected in post.

So far, so good. I look forward to my next Viltrox purchase.

I shoot Fuji and I have a LOT of lenses. Mainly Fuji but a few 3rd party, Samyang, Viltrox and Mikaton.

I did not have the greatest expectation of this lens but was wrong. It is mainly plastic so light and durability may (or may not) be an issue. However the quality of the lens is outstanding. Attached 2 very different images taken with the lens within an hour. Quality is I think excellent in both. Very happy with this lens and will be my go to for portraits and more.

Absolutely Amazing Little Beast of a Lens, Okay very Solid feeling, built Very much like Fuji's 35mm XC. If Not a Little better Build as Metal Lens mount , that's a Nice Fit.

Focusing Super Fast, Sharpness Wow...Better then my Fuji 50mm .

You Really could get any better , even if you spent more money !

Would be nice if the did a 85mm version ????.

Reviewed this for so long with reservations, no need, absolutely fantastic lens, so sharp wide open, as good if not better than my Fuji primes. Great service from the Viltrox store too.

What can I say? I cannot believe I can get a lens with image quality this good for such a low price. Small, light, absolutely no bells and whistles but razor sharp even wide open at f1.7 with lovely soft bokeh. Some early reviews complained of slow auto focus but I've not had any issue on my copy of the lens, I've used it in a busy pitlane taking pictures of racing cars and the AF was fine. I really hope Viltrox make a 23mm and 33mm in the same style as I'd snap them up.

Optics rate 5* and the auto focus is accurate and quick. Build quality and design also appear much better than some of the rival lens made by manufacturers who have appeared in the last two or three years. For a fraction of the price of a similar lens by the big names you cannot go wrong. Some of the pro reviewers were critical of it's shallow lens hood but the front optic is heavily recessed and set well back in the body so a deep lens hood is not so necessary.
